2nd hike of late summer NV trip
This was my backup hike for the trip. I made the drive out to Hole in the Mountain Peak, and drove up into Lizzie's Basin but the weather was in full monsoon mode. Heavy rains with intermittent lightning, near zero visibility so I retreated back towards Elko and picked off Adobe instead. Views were somewhat disappointing with full on storms wracking much of the area, and the range was overrun with clouds most of the hike up.
I opted to drive in via the north 4x4 road. The road at the corral was in pretty bad shape, so I continued to follow the Coal Mine Canyon Road on around Adobe HP and approached from the north. The north road has a couple pretty steep sections and a fairly deep gulley crossing, but didn't have the washed out section the south road had.

Northeast Ridge
Nice hike from the saddle to the northeast. The road had some issues, but not bad.

Followed the route...
...as nicely presented by the author of this page. An easy hike across a mellow setting.

Good hike
Those crickets were nasty, but the rest of it was worth it.

Great day in the Adobes
Nice hike to a range HP that is rarely visited. The Adobes are underrated and underappreciated -- even the Mormon crickets like it here!
