Allen Peak

Allen Peak

The north face of Allen Peak seen from Hidden Valley. There are several couloirs on the mountain including the Banana Chute on the left. It drops for 2,800 feet into upper Taylor Canyon. It is only recommended that you climb or ski here in spring. This side of the mountain is prone to avalanches in winter

You're amazing ...

I didn't know you summited on Notch Peak
in western UT and Mt. Thielsen in central
Oregon. Those are awesome peaks. When
Thielsen is viewed from the south, it
looks like a needle. Beautiful photos!
You must have been hiking/climbing for
at least 10+ years. They go fast!!!
Look what happened in Arizona.

Re: You're amazing ...

Thanks! Yes, after seeing Notch Peak on the back cover of Kelsey’s book I knew I had to climb it. My first trip to Oregon was to Crater Lake where I saw Thielsen in the background. I had to go back and climb that too. One of my most memorable climbs was the Middle Teton when I was 12 years old and after that I was hooked.
