Alsop Lake

A popular spot for fishermen and cows. I nearly had a fight with some mother cows near this lovely lake. The canyon or valley ends with you boxed in by peaks. The creek flows through the whole little canyon along the trail and then after the trail disappears and you just have lawn to cross. I thought the best camping was North of The Cathedral parallel with Mt Beulah's summit but the ground was very wet this year due to late melt and unusually high snowpack. Also I had to avoid the cows as the Forest Service lets herds in to graze every summer.
