Fun Snow Slog
Shavano was a great training trip for Rainier the following weekend. Snowshoed up, and got lots of snow in my pants on the glissade down. Good times with good friends.

Angel
Great first snow climb. Perfect for getting comfortable with crampons. Not to mention the glissade was great!
Climbed and skied this route with a group of 4 others from this site. There was just enough morning snow to start to soften everything up as we began our descent. Skied from the top of the head all the way to about 10,500' before snow became to patchy and we had to walk the rest of the trail. Glissading is fun, but skiing is better!

Spring climbPoor conditions. No freeze/thaw cycle. Too warm. But still better than the standard trail.

Shavano & Tabeguache via AngelBullet-proof snow somewhat lessened the fun factor on the ascent, but this still was an amazing spring day!

Windy...Super windy, which made an ascent with a snowboard on my back rather difficult. But made it none the less, and got some fun late season turns in.

WorkoutTerribly soft snow. Couldn't even glissade. But I was on continuous snow to the summit and enjoyed that. Not too exciting but a decent climb.
