Nice hike - not as crowded back in the day when I first did it but way more so now!

Great views
Great hike in the gorge. Rainy down below but the clouds broke at the top. To avoid crowds go on a nice day in winter. Great sunset: http://www.summitpost.org/angel-s-rest/777719
Hiked up from Multnomah and hit Devil's Rest and Angel's Rest. TONS of people up at Angel's Rest, but it felt like summer!

Avoid the weekends
The views are wonderful, but on weekends the crowds are hellish. The trail is like a pedestrian version of nearby Interstate 84. Try to plan your visit for a weekday.

Great 4th of July
Perfect weather, but the trail was packed! Up on Angel's Rest there were about 40 to 50 people just sitting around and enjoying the sun + excellent cloudless views. Really easy trail, but did see one older man suffer slight heatstroke on the trail.

Good hike for non-hikers
Went up with a friend that has medical problems. Many people of many different abilities can do this. The view is great for people like me that live in a desert.
A good trail to train intervals but watch out for the beached whales. They line the sides of the trail during popular times.

First hike of 2009
I knew that this was a popular trail but was surprised at how crowded it was on a winter weekend (especially considering the weather wasn't exactly spectacular). I can only imagine how it must be in the summer. The sun broke from the clouds while we were on top and there was no wind to speak of. A pretty good day for a hike.

I've climbed this many times over the years. It's one of my favorites. I've taken both of my daughters also with me. My favorite view west towards Portland with that great oak tree framing the shot.

SunriseVery pretty views on the top, hiked up for sunrise and saw one other person. When walking down however there were too many people to count.

BeautifulSuper muddy but fantastic views of the gorge at the top. Clearly, we made the right decision to move to Oregon.

First hike in OregonDidn't realize there was a separate page for this. Have done this lots of times. Was my first hike after moving to Oregon in 2000.
6/8/16 with Luna, Diane and Ramsey. Watched the sun set.

Quick and Easy Offseason HikingLittle bit of ice near the top on the northern face, but definitely doable in the winter. A lot less crowded, too.
