"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Route Climbed: The normal route Date Climbed: November 2001My friend and I up there last November and there was still some fall color on the cottonwoods down below. The views of Zion were breathtaking. We were off of the knife-edge and back at Scout Lookout just before dark. There, we spent a few minutes trying to persuade a family not to continue the class 3 climb to the summit. They didn’t even have flashlights. Fortunately, they decided to hike back down the trail.

Route Climbed: Angels Landing Trail Date Climbed: June 10, 2002Even after having climbed it many times, this trail has never lost it's charm and excitement. The last 1/2 mile not only presents a fun little challenge, but it also gives the best views of the park. Amazing!

Route Climbed: Trail Date Climbed: Once a year or so...Everytime we find an excuse to visit Zion, we hike this trail. The effort to view ratio is excellent, and it's just exciting and difficult enough that one loses the crowds erupting from the tour busses. If you only have one day in the park, do this hike.

Route Climbed: trail Date Climbed: March 1999This is probably the most fun short hike I've been on. The paved beginning is a pain, but that last half mile more than makes up for it. I would drive the five hours to Zion just for this hike.

Route Climbed: Angels Landing Trail Date Climbed: 10-28-01Did this little beauty just a couple of months ago. Very nice half-day hike/climb. Ascending/descending the chains, on the upper portions of the ridge, is the best part! Extremely nice views of Zion Valley from the summit as well!

Route Climbed: Angels Landing Trail Date Climbed: April 22, 2001Started from Zion Lodge at 8:30am and passed about 15 people on the way to the summit. Second one on top that day so it was quite nice. Excellent views, but get here early to avoid the crowds.
After a nice lunch, I drove out to do the 15.2 mile round trip hike to Kolob Arch through Hop Valley. Read about this day in my trip report.
