Re: Annapurna II (7937)...Thank you, Sylvia! At this time in my life - I visit from my computer chair ONLY!
I don't know why - but I am absolutely FASCINATED with the Himalaya. It's rather strange... as I've never been there.
I think that, like many of us who have summitted lesser peaks and have enjoyed the beauty, exertion, isolation, and inner satisfaction thus gained: When I imagine the ULTIMATE mountains - naturally I picture the Himalaya. The incredible human stories... the amazing triumphs... the chilling tragedies... the pride I share when humans dare to trespass in the most inhospitable regions of our fragile planet - these are the things that fire my imagination and stir my blood.
Peace,
Big Lew

Re: Annapurna II (7937)...Thank you for your words, Big Lew. I think that Himalaya and Karakorum ranges are truly peculiar, those peaks have a superhuman power: men are feeling themselves like a microbe in the sight of these ones...but there's also a lot of spirituality, you can breathe it by walking or climbing here...and i think you can feel it also by looking a picture.
Have a good day.
