My father instilled the first virtues of a good climb/hike at an early age for me. I was 8 years old when we did this trip...two weeks on Lake Mead and a good trip up Arch...It was terrifying for an 8 year old but absolutely safe with my father guiding the way. Now that I am 30 exploring Summit Post I found this and I am proud to say I could sign the log and claim this to be what started the urge to satisfy my itchy feet. There is no better way to enjoy and experience anything than by the soles of your shoes and the wind in your hair

Arch Mountain
Climbed with Ed and Bill. Saw a small group of wild horses on the down climb after seeing road apples along the way on the ascent!

Arch Peak - No, Arch highpoint -Yes
Hiked to the high point of Arch Mountain Ridge from Gilbert Canyon. Generally came due east from the junction of two washes. 2,000 foot of elevation gain over 1.5 miles. Took 1.5 hours to climb up - just under 1 hour to get down.
