The Asa Wright Nature Reserve was full of birds, more than I have ever seen in the wild. The purple one is a blue honeycreeper. The black one is a white-lined tanager. See the Trip Report for details.

Tachyphonus rufus Can be hard to distinguish from black icterids like Shiny Cowbird, but I'm pretty confident based on beak shape and color.
