Awoke at 3:30 or so to be sure and be on the summit by sunrise, unfortunately a couple low clouds on the horizon interfered witht the sunrise glow. Still fantastic views and about as much time as I've spent on a summit. (fell asleep afterwards!)
A snowdrift stopped the drive about a mile from the end of the road, but otherwise conditions perfect- could avoid it on the way up and walk/slide on it down.

Skeeter route
Rico and I used the GPS to find the TH, then followed Dennis' directions up to the ridge and the summit. Stupid dad (me) forgot the mosquito repellent and there wasn't much wind, so it was a little tough to enjoy the journey.

Labor Day Sunrise
Left the truck at 6am and was on the summit in time for sunrise glow on Mt. Shasta. A great peak, much more wild and with better views of Shasta than the infinitely more popular Mt. Eddy. The summit log showed less than 20 visits to this peak since 1995 and only two in the last year.

Ash Creek ButtePleasant hike as autumn is lingering late even at elevation this year.
