At the "summit"

That tree near where Bob is standing is what we felt was the highest spot on Elk Mountain. Forested yes, but the summit nonetheless. Not unusual for the lower elevation peaks of western washington. 2-19-06 See this pic by Redwic which shows the area as it looks today. The changes are amazing. So much of the forest that surrounded the high point are gone and just an island remains. : (
