Middle Cottonwood Route.
Climbed Saddle and Baldy out of Middle Cottonwood with my dog. Great day.
I prefer going up from Sypes; less people, nice hike.

good early season climb
Good early season climb, the M trail faces south. harder climb than people give it credit for. Bozeman crazies were doing laps on it the day we climbed.

Very windy on the summit, but somehow it was safe for the storms that were pillaging the Absorkas. 4 hrs round trip

Via Sypes Canyon Trail
I think the Sypes Canyon route is the most scenic...much better than hiking over the M trail which is always littered with people. Had a great, nearly snow free day.

Ridge Run Scouting Trip
Jogged/hiked from the "M" and back with my uncle and cousins who were getting ready for the Ridge Run. Saw only a few people at the trailhead - all quiet on the trail.

M to Baldy (actual summit)
Hiked the "M" to Baldy on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Bozeman. The steepness will set your thighs on fire in a couple of sections, but the views that continually open up are well worth the effort. We spent about 4-5 hours up and back enjoying the views the whole way. The false summit contains the register. Continue north for 2 more prominences and you will get the actual peak. There are cairns at both prominences beyond the false summit. The trails are easy to follow. Bring plenty of water.

Fun day
Hiked from the M to baldy. A classic and somewhat steep/rigorous hike very close to Bozo town.
This was my second attempt this year - too much snow in April. Did the hike up and down from the "M" trailhead in 4:45; I find it very funny that the summit log is not on the summit, and is on a point that is obviously lower than any other points along the ridge.
