In 2003 a big loop from Jamnicka dolina, along the ridge from Jamnické sedlo (Ostry Rohac, Prislop, Try Kopy) till Banikov, than Prislop, down to Ziarska chata and Ziarska dolina. A very long day, but magnificent!
Next time in October 2005 from Zverovka till Smutné sedlo. On the ridge till Banikov down via Banikovksé sedlo. Perfect autumn weather, stunnuing panorama, and some snow already.

Easy hike
Like many of the Tatras mountains served by trails, some attention is to be paid the sub-alpine boulder zone. The appreciation of difficulty may vary a lot amongst people who are used to hiking mountains or not, however from a fair point of view, and with all the respect I have for the Tatras mountains which own so many difficult routes, I wouldn't describe the mountain Banikov as difficult.

Normal route from Spalena Dolina
Very nice trip in great weather. We visited Banikov on our way to Smutne Sedlo, starting in Rohacska Valley, along Spalena Valley, following the marked route.
Trip with Igi.
On a marvelous day late October we did the following, very recommendable round trip: Ziarska chata - Banikov - Rohacske pleso - Smutne sedlo - Placlivy Rohac - Ziarska chata. Early morning near the hut we also managed to meet an otter rushing down the small stream. It was a perfect day, the Western Tatras are fantastic!

Perfect fall
I spend two wonderfull fall days in Western Tatras with my brother and father. We ascended all the peaks above the Ziarska valley. First day we ascended Prislop, Banikov, Hruba kopa and Tri kopy with the descend from the Smutne saddle to the Ziarska chalet.
