I had thought about putting up a page for Battle Mountain in the past but never got around to it. You've done a really good job explaining the history and geology of the area.
There are lots of great summits in the Black Hills, but information on where they all are and how to access them is not always the easiest to obtain. Battle Mountain is a fun and fairly easy hike - great views when you are in the southern hills! I hope more people will share some of their favorites in the Black Hills. Thanks for your comments!
