Overview
In Eastern France lies a very nice climbing area called
Baume Les Dames.
Less crowded than Burgundian sites, it provides a wide range of 1 or 2 pitch route with all kind of difficulties.
Getting There
From
Paris, drive on Motorway A6 down to
Beaune,
from where you will go onto Motorway A31 (north bound) for a few kilometers then Motorway A36 (east bound).
After
Besançon, take exit 5.
Baume Les Dames is then 4 kms away, south bound.
You can easily park close to the cliff.
As it is located in the northern part of the French Jura, it is very easy to access Baume-Les-Dames from
Switzerland and
Germany.
Staying There
It is possible to camp freely by the cliff near the Doubs river.
Very charming site. However it can be cold and wet in spring and fall.
