Was definitely in a peak bagging mood today. Started at Beverly TH. Hiked to Fourth Creek Pass. Left trail to follow ridge straight to Mary's Peak. Then followed ridge to Judy's Peak. Dropped into valley and went straight for Bean Peak. Followed ridge down to Volcanic Neck. And finished up at Devil's Head. Then looped back using standard trail. Views were incredible, trail was silent (and it was a holiday weekend) and really cool rocks which was an unexpected plus. Very dry up here so bring extra water because there isn't much to filter beyond Beverly Creek.
Combined with Earl's, Mary's and Judi's. Great time, my first in the Teanaway! Trip report here.

N Ridge
What Fred said. Still a nice way to go - we made a loop of it by hiking the trail around to the saddle between Bean and Volcanic Neck, climbing Volcanic Neck and then hiking over to bean and down.

N Ridge
Climbed with Moni. Ascended the N Ridge and descended the SW Ridge and down into the basin to the trail. We learned the hard way that the first weekend in June each year is when the Seattle Mountaineers do their "Scramble Class" on Bean. We were overwhelmed by around 30 of them on the summit. If you want solitude, pick a different date.

Spectacular views
Spectacular views of Mt. Stuart made the climb well worth it. Just a modestly steep ascent up a snowfield.

7 Peak Day
Traversed Earl, Bean, Volcanic Neck, Devils Head, Bean, Judis, Marys, and Bill with Heather Anderson. 13 hours and 40 minutes round-trip.
We ended up on the summit of Bean twice. The most difficult part of the day was scrambling over and around the gendarmes on the southwest ridge leading over to Mary's.

Cool scramble
Came over from Judi's Peak with Flanders. Skirted a brown dyke on the right on the way over and then up through orange slabs scrambling up to the summit from the southwest. Descended the ridge to the north over to Volcanic Neck after.

Earl-Bean traverse
Highly recommend pairing Earl and Bean. The scramble from Earl to Bean is YDS 2 to 3 depending on what you want. Minimal exposure if the line is chosen with common sense. We descended the SW side of the summit pyramid and immediately dropped down to the meadow below. Would have continued down the ridge if the weather had held.

Bean Peak
One of the HOTTEST days of the year was my ascent day, and it was still one of my favorite trips ever. Great, short trip and more scrambling toward Volcanic Neck and devil's Head

Climbed Bean with BeauDaddy and Zephyr. Beau led the way up the scramble which was easy Class 3 at the crux. Knocked off Mary and Judi's Peak as well that day. The rock is excellent!! Great peak to end on!!!

Great, sticky rock...
Did a solo trip to Earl in the morning and Bean in the afternoon... The views really are amazing. Lots of fun scrambling the rocky ridge that separates the two. Bean was more technical, which actually made it more fun out of the two.
