Bearhat Mountain and Hidden Lake

Bearhat Mountain and Hidden Lake

Seen from a ledge on the west face of Dragon's Tail that could take cliff diving to new extremes, for Hidden Lake is about 2500' below. The actual summit of Bearhat Mountain is visible here (the point left of center). Most people glimpse Bearhat Mountain from Logan Pass or see it from Hidden Lake Overlook, but the true summit is not visible from those points. Glacier National Park, MT-- August 2009

The colors!

What a truly amazing view of the layers of color. That's a great shot.

I like it

I am really liking this angle of Bearhat. This year I am climbing to the true summit and this shot really shows the ledge to use for the traverse.

Re: I like it

Glad to hear it might be useful as well. Enjoy Bearhat! It's such a great-looking mountain, and I'd love to catch that nice view it has of Reynolds.

Re: I like it

it is a fantastic view from there. I am going to climb it agian this year as well as to the True summit. Most people only hit the false summit.
