becca vannetta

Overview

Becca vannetta is not a very high summit (3361m) but on the summit you have an amazing view on the mountains around you. Also the lake place de moulin (1968m) is good visible.

Synonyms for the becca vannetta are: becca della vanette or Bce de la vanette. The mountain is situated in the pennine alps. Near the boundary of swiss and Italy. The mountain itself is in Italy. The becca vannette is sporadic climbed so your almost sure alone on top of the summit.

You can combine this trip with other trips from refugio nacamuli. Like mont brulé, punta kurz, Gran becca D'oren.

The trip is also possible in winter.

Getting There

Area reachable from Italy and Swizzerland.

Route from ITALY:
via Valpelline-Comba d'Oren-rif Nacamuli.
From Turin, Milan. Leave motorway A5 in Aosta Est, then follow Grand Sant Bernard tunnel direction. Once passed Valpelline village,take the direction to lake of Place Moulin.

Route from SWIZZERLAND:
via Arolla.
From Geneva,Sion. Arolla is the topmost village of the uppermost valley of the Val d'Hérens.

In former times, you could reach it only on foot. Now, there exists a road. You reach Arolla by car
from Sion via Evolène and Les Haudères.

Routes

The route I have climbed is the "standard" route from rifugio nacamuli. From there you walk toward the col collon, but before reaching the col collon change your direction southward to the becca vanetta. Crampons and a light rope advised. about 3 hours to the summit. (F-)


In winter this is also a skiroute. And from the summit of the becca vanetta is also a skialpinismo route to braoulé (the village) over the glacier du mont brulé. (but I haven't walked it so I can't give detailed information) (PD+/S4)
