Route Climbed: East flank up, North ridge down Date Climbed: 8 Aug 2004
Did this on my way over to Bend from Eugene. 3 hours round trip. Went up the steep trail up the east flank with fine views of the Middle and North Sisters in front of me, descended the north ridge, looking at Mt Washington and other peaks further north.
Route Climbed: East side sand Date Climbed: September 26, 2003
Was going to climb something different today but that area is still closed due to the B & B fire so I checked the book and saw this one. Headed to it and started about 1 pm. Very hot, in the 90's. Hiking this one is like walking on those little lava rocks in your front yard around your bushes. At least until you get to the base of Belknap. Then it turns to a steep sand climb. Neat crater though and great views, especially of Washington.
Did the scree ski down and then went over to Little Belknap and checked out the cave there before heading back.
