easy, crowded hike
I've been up this a couple of times. It's a nice hike, but due to crowds not a real mountaineering adventure. It's more like a long dog-walking hike. Saw a couple of elk in the meadow near the parking lot.

From Lewis Ridge Rd. parking area
A pleasant spring walk with my friend Martha. We misread the map in our haste to get moving, and thought it was going to be about 7 miles R/T. Turned out to be more like 10. Not that it mattered much. I love the open space trails in this part of the foothills!

From Elk Meadows
Hiked with my son to the top while trying to keep out of the way of mountain bikers. The summit was filled with butterflies of all kinds.

Stage Coach
As Jamie pointed out this is a great hike for when the weather report discourages getting up higher. We started from Stage Coach parking area and did Meadow View / Bergen Peak Trail. There was packed down snow on much of the trail with a few icy spots. Some people were wearing YakTrax but we didn't put ours on. It was good to have poles.

Meadow View / Bergen Peak / Too Long Trails Loop
I enjoyed this delightful New Years Day outing with Dave's CMC group. We completed a loop hike in plenty of snow (albeit packed down). The Too Long Trail is - well - too long. My Adult ADD (kidding...) kicked in and like a mule going back to the barn I justed wanted to reach the truck! Views of the Evans Group are knock-out.

rainier prep
used bergen as a way to stretch our legs on a super-crappy weather day up high, yet still get our legs moving towards rainier. nice hike with great views in between the trees. not much snow until the final 1000' vertical.

Bergen Peak Trail
I did a loop: I took the Sleepy S trail to the Meadow View Trail, then took the Bergen Peak Trail the rest of the way. There was still a lot of snow near the top. On the way down, I took the Too Long, Founders and Painters Pause trails to the parking lot. I looks like the mileage is about the same either way.

Bergen Peak
Beautiful sunny Saturday in April. Some snow on the ground, but the temperatures were in the 70s. Nice views. Saw about 4 deer on the hike up. Started at the trailhead off of Stagecoach.
