Spring has sprung
The record-breaking winter has refilled Lake Hodges and covered the hills with blooms. Great (hazy) views from the top, but I can only imagine how lovely they would've been before I-15 and all the sprawl. One of those mountains where the trail is (IMO) more enjoyable than the summit.

From Piedras Pintadas Trailhead parking lot
Stopped to do this one on the way to San Diego with the wife. Pleasant afternoon hike to the summit. Views were quite good.
I had run by this mountain several times and decided finally decided to go to the top. Its quick and easy but offers spectacular views of Lake Hodges and distant traffic

Nice jaunt.
Pretty day, but wish the views were less cluttered by housing developments. Guess I'm missing the Sierras this winter.

A few times
Most memorable climb was right after the fires.. just cross countried straight to the top.

Great local mountain, wish the trail was more direct (steeper)...
This is my default hike when I want to do something quick, easy and close in North County, been to the top about 20 times. Nice views of Lake Hodges and the 15 Freeway and the rest of the sprawl and smog of San Diego county. Nice and easy grade if you want to run down from the summit.

One of my Favorites
Very odd hike up the peak after the fires hit the area. It was nice to progressively see the vegetation come back from down under, however. I've hiked to the peninsula from Lake Hodges then up this mountain on this date.. Awesome adventure.
Surprisingly long hike to a relatively low peak. Loved the Felicita Creek area with actual flowing water! RT in a shade over 2 hours to greet the sunrise. Great way to start the day!

Trail run from Sunset Drive T/H
I ran up Bernardo Mountain (1,150') under threatning skies: 38 min up. Counted a dozen flashes of lightning.

Bernardo Mountain
Nice early morning climb. Full moon at the trailhead, no cars in the parking lot. Excellent, clear day, views forever. Passed by many bikes on the return, parking lot full of bikers. Easy, rewarding hike.
