Hamongog Trail
Climbed from Schoolhouse Springs through the Hamongogs. Quite a bit of snow from ~9200 feet up. Great spring mountaineering objective. A few good glissades back down to the trail.

Wintry wonderland
Parked at the "Lehi" gate in alpine and went up via 1st hamengog and 2nd hamengog. Used the nice snow to slide up the side of big horn and up its tail to the summit ridge. The descent was soooooo fun as I got to glissade practically the entire way down to 2nd hamengog. Three hours to the summit, one hour to get back to the car. Was a fantastic day with my dog.

CLimbed up Ennis Peak, Lone Peak, and on to Bighorn Peak. Scrambling was not too bad but there were a few class 4 sections. Sun finally came out when we got to the top of Bighorn. Great views! Then we went down Bells canyon.

From Alpine
4/26/2015 From Alpine through the Hamongogs and South Ridge on up. A fair amount of snow the several days prior made for a fun mountaineering experience.
6/23/2013 Climbed with the WMC from Alpine through the hamongogs. From the second hamongog we pretty much headed straight up, through the boulder field, and to the ridge just to the East of Lone Peak on the saddle. The traverse along the West ridge to Bighorn was awesome. We descended by way of the more standard approach back through the hamongogs.

Take an Overnighter
This peak took me 4 attempts. I tried once from Sawmill Trail, twice via Bell's Canyon (avalanches have wiped away the upper part of the trail and make it a legitimate ordeal), and finally got there via the Schoolhouse Springs trail group. Camped for the night and climbed the peak first thing in the morning along with some others. Beautiful little lake and great sleeping on a melted out patch of soft pine needles with snow all around. My first ever mountain trip without a tent, and since, I have only taken a tent once. A great peak, but more impressive to behold from the Western ridge. Climbed the east(ish) ridge which shares a sort of saddle with the Thunders.

Nice fall hike, with reds & yellows in the lower elevations & still a bit of snow between the boulders at the top from the storm a couple of weeks ago. Contemplated heading over to Lone, but bagged the idea after seeing conditions on the ridge.

Via the "hamangogs" on the Alpine side
Have climbed this about a half-dozen times - usually en-route to Lake Hardy. Took a group of 14 yr-old scouts this time. Gorgeous views of the Utah / Salt Lake valleys, Lone Peak, Timp, Box Elder, etc.

Climbed from the south via the Hamongogs
I hiked up through the Hamongogs with a group of hikers heading to Lake Hardy, as part of the annual Alpine Days tradition. When we got to the meadow where you drop off Bighorn's south ridge, I decided to break away from the group and hike to Bighorn Peak. I had never been there and wanted to see the views. It was a great hike and the views were worth the extra effort. I returned via Dry Creek Canyon.

a bunch
I've climbed this one 12 times.
12/10/09 From Alpine. -1 at the start.
12/03/09 From Alpine with Moogie737 and Christine
11/27/09 From Alpine with Scott Wesemann and Matthew Van Horn. Great late fall hike.
12/6/08 Started out from Alpine headed for S Thunder but didn't bring snowshoes and thought it would be stupid to persist, so I settled for Upper Bells.
08/14/07 With lesdubois. From Alpine after doing S Thunder. Finally figured out the easy way to do the east ridge.
12/01/02 Started from Alpine headed for S Thunder but the weather wasn't looking too good so settled for Upper Bells.
08/31/02 From Alpine. Did this one first and then went over to Lone Peak.
07/27/02 From Alpine after doing S Thunder. From the final saddle to the summit I stayed on the S side of the ridge the whole way. I'm never doing it that way again.
05/12/01 With MM from Alpine. Snow was soft but we did fine without snowshoes.
10/07/00 With MM from Alpine. Then went over to Lone Peak.
11/13/99 With MM from Alpine. Then went over to Lone Peak. Awkward amount of snow on N side of ridge.
06/28/98 My first WMC trip and my first experience with Alpine. Led by Brad Yates with lesdubois and Todd. We did a loop, going up the trail east of the Upper Bells ridge and coming down the trail west of the ridge. Even though it was the end of June and a southern exposure, there was still a ton of snow.
