Hello Bill ...Snow in August? It takes me a few hours to
find an "alpine zone" here in Arizona.
My plan is to view the trees in the San
Francisco Peaks next week. Geez, I can't wait!!

Snow in AugustLarry,
It can snow at anytime at the higher altitudes. Usually melts off in several days in the summer but this summer the snow on the high north sides never did totally clear off.
Have fun on your fall colors trip. Good time to go see the leaves change.

So on the endDid you reach summit of Mt. Victoria?
We were there last year but started our trip to late. It was to warm. Snow was melting. Avalanche left and right we had to turn around.

Re: So on the endThe clouds cleared for a few pictures and then socked in again so we went down. It rained hard on the way down so we were glad we didn't go for the summit. We are going to give it a try again this year.
Always tough to get the time off and the conditions to match up.
Take care.
Bill

Hmmmm.....You seem to be smiling here. Was this before or after your summit bid got shut down?

Re: Hmmmm.....We got up at 5 am but it was blizzarding at that point so we back to bed. This picture was taken between wet snow/rain storms later in day. Summiting is good but any day in the mountains is an enjoyable one.
