traverse from Pollock Mountain
gorgeous, breezy day atop the summit. traversed to Bishops Cap after summit of Pollock. followed a great climber's trail and plenty of cairns on the class III climb to the summit. the east face of Bishops Cap is truly stunning - talk about sheer! amazing views all around. returned to Pollock, and rather than climbing back up to the summit, we followed a wide, scree-covered ledge at the base of the cliffs west of the summit block. very easy walk all the way back to saddle between Pollock and Piegan; simple, scenic descent down to Piegan Pass from there.
What a fun summit. Great climbing on Glacier rock. Not as difficult as I was expecting. A thrilling summit to stand on. Great views as well. Would do this mountain again in a heartbeat. Fantastic!
Climbed with Vern, Fred and Moni. Great mountain, great climbing companions.

Nice traverse from Pollock Mountain--including one point of peeking over the edge into all the exposure you could ever hope for!--with Fred, Moni, and Ellen. Clambering up the actual "Cap" is loads of fun, and doing Pollock and Bishops Cap in one day makes for a very nice few hours on top of Glacier Park!
This day's climb was on my birthday, making it one of the best such days ever--good effort, good view, good friends, we didn't get too wet, the lightning missed all of us...a sincerely terrific day. Thanks, guys...

With Fred, Vern Garner and Ellen Ritt. A very fun climb. Weather was stormy with a thunderstorm coming. Only takes about 1/2 hour from the notch between Bishops Cap and Pollock. Once you are up there, doing Bishops Cap and Pollock together makes good sense.
