Clear day
Down and up via Glacier Lake from Grouse Ridge Trailhead. Hit all three summits. Register is on the highest, which is not the spot elevation on the topo.

Backpack
In between jobs, I convinced a friend to take some time off work and we headed to Tahoe National Forest for a rare weekday backpack. Headed straight for Glacier Lake from Carr TH, set up camp, and brought a beer up Black Buttes to enjoy. Unfortunately the ongoing fires obscured views, but they did create a unique scene.

Sunshine and snow
Backpacked to Glacier Lake, then just had to go up the buttes. Super fun ridge and scramble up to the top. We had great views of the Sierra Buttes and could even make out Lassen in the distance. Did my first little glissade, heading down to the lake instead of taking the ridge back.

From Hwy 80
Followed the OHV roads to Eagle Lakes then up to the west end of the ridge, summit register hadn't been signed since October - this one doesn't see many winter ascents. Total of just over 17 miles. Trip report is HERE.

Ridge Traverse from Blue Lake
Hiked in about 4.5 miles, gained the saddle, traversed the ridge, descended to Beyers Lakes, and hiked out. About a 9 hour trip @ 13 miles. Some fun class 3-4 scrambling.

Black Buttes
Finally got around do doing these, had been eyeing them for a while. Gorgeous weather and not too many people in the area.
