The mighty Black Tooth!
Legit alpine scramble in an epic setting. Some exposure near the top and it appears some parties opt to use a rope to ascend & rap the two short 10-15ft chimney's near the top. This was peak #95 in my quest to climb 100 peaks over 9000 ft.

NE ramp from Sawtooth Lakes
Drove from Denver and got a late start from the Bighorn reservoir trailhead... but managed to get to the 4th Sawtooth lake and made camp. Up and down from there in a leisurely 5 hours with a 45 minute summit relaxation session, since the weather was cloudless, windless and almost too hot even at 8am! The hike out was downright balmy that afternoon. Back in Sheridan that afternoon it was 106 degrees!

Via Wilderness Basin
Backpacked to the highest lake in Wilderness Basin and camped directly south of Black Tooth. The next day we climbed Woolsey's south arete first, then descended to saddle and hiked up Black Tooth. Descended south slopes back to camp. Final Wyoming 13er (w/ 300ft+ of prominence) for Teresa & I!
Hiked into Penrose cirque from Bighorn Reservoir in a longish day but had the pup so this time was only a recon mission. Amazing area and an impressive mountain. The fact the poster below did it in less than 6 hrs TH to TH is pretty awesome indeed.

In one day
climbed it in 5 hr 48 min from Little Goose trailhead to the top. We ran into some trouble on our way out (rain, injuries, getting patched up by an awesome doctor in the mountains, talking to people, etc...), so we didn't get out as fast as we would have liked to.

From Woolsey
Did the traverse from Mt. Woolsey to Black Tooth, got a little hairy on the rappel down the NW buttress of Woolsey, we got on top of BT at 8:30 pm!

Success on NE snow ramp
Camped at lowest Sawtooth Lake. Climbed in perfect weather this time. It was a fun climb with a couple of class 4 chutes, found a spot where a rappel had been set up, but I didn't have a rope on me, it got a little scary when I had to climb blind down wet rock.

Failure
Climbed from Sawtooth Lakes, got halfway up the chute leading to top and clouds came in and I had to turn back. Started hailing when I got to the base.

Route Climbed: East face/North face Date Climbed: July, 1993; October 2003Summitted in 1993 via the 3rd class east face route. High camp at lowest lake in Penrose Canyon.
Failed on North Face in 2003. Too late a start to let us complete the climb and return home by our designated return time. Camped at Spear Lake.
