went up the back from 4th of july th and looped back to the lot. Would make for a fantastic run. Very windy, wife's first time at 10,000ft. 4th of july th is SLAMMED with people this summer.

Nice little loop from 4th of July TH
Did this one on a whim from the ridgeline above Ants Basin and played the "How much elevation gain will it take to reach this peak from where we are now?" game. We all overshot: it's a whopping 300'. Steep but very short gravelly climbers trail up, great views of the entire basin, made it a loop by coming down the southwest slopes (the old mines at the base were a fun surprise). Had we done more research, I might have tried to do Patterson instead or in addition, but Blackmon was a fun little summit anyway!

Solo summit
Simple, trail the whole way. Windy and lots of flies but a pretty good view of these white tipped peaks. Lost my hat at the top...

Josh and I hiked from the parking lot up the SW ridge on the way to Lonesome Peak. There are some really good views from this easy to access peak.

From Born to Strawberry Basin
Climbed Blackmon during our return leg out of Born Lakes with my son. The climber's trail is clear from the pass above Ants/Antz and we made the summit in quick order. We descended the ridge towards 4th of July creek and enjoyed a trail that ran parallel to the ridge through the forest. When the trail came to an abrupt end we cut south and came in at the site of the old mine. A nice end to a great White Clouds outing.

Fun climb which was done with my g-friend and our 2 dogs. Took a couple hours to reach the summit, then spent about 1/2 hour taking pics and soaking in the views. Was alot of fun, but was ready to come down (very hot this day at 93 degrees in Stanley). Would recommend!

Nice Hike
Hiked up from Born Lakes on our way back to 4th of July TH. Decent informal trail most of the way up. Took a cross-country route through the burn area on the way down. Saw a buck, doe and fawn family.

Traverse
Went up the southwest ridge and then down the other ridge to Fourth of July Lake with a group of friends. Great views from the top and interesting old mines on the way up.
No trails, just up from parking lot through burned woods to top. About 1,500 ft straight up. Very quick and easy with great views for a seemingly small mountain (although still higher than many Sawtooth summits visible across the valley).
made a loop of it by going up the south ridge after following the trail from 4th of July Lake up to the pass- this ridge is more scenic than the more direct ascent up the southwest ridge. Lots of burned forest in the area. My 5 year old almost made it to the top before he needed a lift

SW Ridge
Amazing views for such an easy hike. Planned on following the ridge over to Patterson, but thunderstorms were rumbling.
Three of us made the trek from Fourth of July TH to Blackman Peak and then hiked the ridge up to Patterson. Good views. Easy route to summit both peaks. Reached the peak again in July of 2005 from the trail that heads to Born Lakes from Fourth of July.

Nice mountain to jog up in order to get a nice overview of the White Clouds. The view across the basin to D.O. Lee peak is fantastic. You can't help but look at it and drool over that mountain.
