You may be hoping to see a Resplendent Quetzal, but you are more likely to see (and hear) this Blue-crowned Motmot, at least up to about 7000' / 2200m.

Thanks for your comment. I was surprised to see this guy calmly sitting there just 15 feet away from me. He hung around long enough to snap off a few shots. Great birding down there!
