Spruce Creek/Deadhorse
CMC trip. We snow-shoed from the St Louis trailhead, followed the Spruce Creek Trail to the Deadhorse trail, then we followed an unmarked trail for a bit before climbing straight up to the summit. It was sunny for most of the day, but very windy on the summit. The whole hike took a little under 7 hours.

A totally amazing blue-bird winter day with fine snow. From this approach, Bottle Peak, especially cloaked in winter snow, is a striking and dramatic Colorado 11er. Sadly, I lost my camera on the mountain, which completely breaks my heart. Good company, though, and a fine outting.

Wonderful trek
Came down from Byers and visited the summit of Bottle Peak. Absolutely perfect mountain trek.

My son and I climbed Bottle and Ptarmigan Peaks from Keyser Creek. We climbed the peaks from the west. The trail was faded, but we made our way to Bottle Pass and then climbed Ptarmigan Peak. After eating lunch at the summit, we returned to Bottle Pass and climbed Bottle Peak before heading back down to the vehicle. It was sunny the whole time and there were no mosquitoes. It was a perfect day.
August 2003
I climbed Bottle and Ptarmigan from the Fraser Experimental Forest. At the time the road was open all the way to the beginning of the trail (it's closed now).
