can do! one of the best backcountry sites in Glacier is located at Hole-in-the-Wall. spent a night there myself, and it was truly memorable.

Boulder glacier

In 1958, when I was 17, I climbed Boulder Peak from Hole-in-the-Wall, where my family and our wrangler guide were camped. It was late afternoon when I reached the top. My shortcut back was sliding down the long snowbank glacier using a slender stone as a brake. That snow has apparently melted away. It was amazing that I neither fell into a nearby crevice that paralleled my rapid decent, nor ended flying over the cliff below. What a great picture. Paul Queneau Sr., Glden, CO
