loop hike
I saw this from Taurus a few months back so I did the direct ascent followed by a bushwhack of Sugarloaf. Fifty minutes to the top at a slow pace to admire the view.
After 4th of July weekend, not too many people out. And the trail was dry. double bonus

A Great Short Scramble
This doesn't take long, but is pretty steep and a lot of fun. You can be to the top in 25-35 minutes if you're in good shape, and there are multiple stopping points with good views. The best view only takes about 15-20 minutes to get to, and only requires about 600 feet of elevation gain!

December Hike
Short but wonderful hike with lots of opportunities for hand over foot scrambles.
Probably my favorite Hudson Valley hike. A nice scramble and wonderful views. If you're in the area, this is the hike to take!

Route Climbed: Breaknick Ridge Trail
Great climbing to start, and shortly thereafter rewarded by spectacular views of the Hudson River. But that's about it. The trail afterwards is quite uneventful aside from a nice view or two.

great day hike
just got back from this one. 5th time up great short hike, was icy in spots but always a good climb
I did this with a group of friends. It is probably the best scramble in the area. I went up the Breakneck Ridge Trail, but down by the Bypass and Wilkinson.

Really Cool
Really great hike with my son and grandfather- we did the loop and it was nice and steep with fun Class 3 scrambling. I came for a visit from the west and have done hundreds of peaks above 10,000 feet, so I had low expectations. But I was really pleasantly surprised!
My first Highlands trip. When we made it a mile in the first hour I was like, enough! We'll never get through 8 more! But we did and the climb and the views were great.

CopperheadGreat hike. Saw a copperhead on the way up. Be careful out there! Between the timber rattlers in the area and those you have to watch where you step.

Nice loopDid a nice loop going up Breakneck Ridge, over to Bull Hill and down. Weather was pleasant, partly cloudy and warm.

Favorite weekend getawayHave done most of the routes on Breakneck numerous times. My favorite is still Breakneck (W) to Mount Beacon. Still have yet to see a rattler.

10x (at least)This is my favorite scramble in the area. It can be made more "interesting" by veering off to the right or left of the trail.
