Route Climbed: from Klein Matterhorn - with skis Date Climbed: July 17th, 2005
easy hike from the Klein Matterhorn cable car station. Shared the hike with thousands of others. My partner and I we brought skis - what a pleasure to descent. Perfect July snow conditions.
Route Climbed: From the Klein Matterhorn Date Climbed: 7/30/05
The weather wasn't great in Zermatt, but it was much better up on the Klein Matterhorn. I threw on my crampons and had my axe in hand and headed up to the summit. I was surprised how many guided parties were on this peak. Overall, the whole trip took about three hours round trip. Overall I think it was worth the 72 CF to take the Klein Matterhorn cable car.
Route Climbed: from Kleinmatterhorn Date Climbed: 22.07.2005
Breithorn the second. The weather was most beautiful, much better than the first. The same are the fotos. It's a super-view to Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, Mt. Blanc a.o.
Route Climbed: Normal from Plateau Rosa Date Climbed: July 2004
It was my first 4000er. The route is very easy in good weather, from Klein Matterhorn it must be even too easy. You can find more detailed description under http://zuraw.iostrow.com/mountains2004.html
Route Climbed: Normal Route Date Climbed: July 18, 2005
Had great weather with two new friends, doing another "get to know you" (aka "will you two kill me if I rope together on something more serious?") hike. But I was dying on the way down... wishing I had my skis, with excellent spring snow conditions that would have made for a great ski down.
We got caught in a thunderstorm that finally hit about 10min from the cablecar station. I was pulling my two partners like crazy roped together desperately trying to get out from underneath the ski lift and back to safety while lightning struck all around and hail so hard it left little blood blisters on my hands!
Route Climbed: normal route from kl. matterhorn Date Climbed: august 19 2004
After two failed attempts, the mountain granted me access. But it didn't come cheap. Wind's were at galeforce, and it took over two hours to reach the summit. Sadly there was absolutely no view.
Route Climbed: Ski tour from Theodulpass Date Climbed: March 25, 1966
This "easy" 4000er was my first experience of ski-touring on a high mountain (details provided in Trip Report). Subsequently I came back many more times to the summit while on ski tours. Finally in Aug 02 I did the Breithorn traverse (west ridge only) with my sons. All the climbs were make with local guides because Breithorn might have become a serious endeavor if there had been a sudden weather change. In every instance, the views that we had from the top were breathtaking.
Route Climbed: normal route Date Climbed: summer 02
Climbed with a guided party, quite slow going but nice, felt the hight quite badly as i only arrived in zermatt that morning, 400m to 4160 in under 5hrs.
Route Climbed: SW Ridge, Normal Date Climbed: August 16, 2004
We reached the summit in good weather and enjoyed the views for a few minutes before the wind picked up and it quickly got cold. Very busy day on the Breithorn also.
Route Climbed: normal route from klein Matterhorn Date Climbed: 31-07-2004
On a beautifull sunny day, was my first 4000er and for sure not my last. This is an easy mountain to climb and fun to try. The only pitty is that there were so much people having the same idea that day ;-)....
Take a good coat with you cause it can be windy and cold on the top!!

Route Climbed: Normal route from Klein Matterhorn Date Climbed: July 21, 2005Nice summit ridge, route was fairly crowded. Easy and nice to start e.g. a Monte Rosa tour.
We descended over the East ridge to point 4075m. From there on, one can go further to Breithorn Mittelgipfel. Is a short but very nice ridge!
