Nice peak near Punta La Marmora. You get a good view of the higher mountains from here. I am getting dizzy switching between the Dolomites and Sardinia!
Thanks Mark! I'm switching back and forth to throw everyone, who might want to follow me, off my tracks ;-) I did Monte Vatles and Latemar because I had to promised to do them way back in March and April and it was just about time. Plus it takes quite some time (and discussions with livioz) to put up a Dolomite group page so that this process is somehow rinning in the background.
And another excellent page. I found it interesting that the oak trees had been completely destroyed as they were used for charcoal. I worked in Ecuador years ago and one of the projects was working with the locals trying to keep them from destroying their forests, and to teach them to reforest. Sometimes it's difficult to make the decision between the enviroment and survival.
Thanks for the vote! You're right about the coices. It seems that there is nothing that we Europeans haven't done wrong some time way back. But who wants to listen ......? Even if you might know better?
