ridge walk  Sucess!

Second summit of the day on the way to Graybeard. Took the trail down from this point also, since it was much easier than the trail up Little Piney.

Re: A few times

You lived there? It's a very nice community. I was impressed. I'm looking forward to going back and hiking some more. Unfortunately, the trails were packed with deadfall from this year's bad winter weather. The volunteers are going to have their work cut out for them.

A few times  Sucess!

This is the third of the "Seven Sisters" that run from Solomon Morris (also called Tomahawk) to Greybeard. The whole ridge is a delight. When I was 17 (when it was still a bushwhack), going all the way up the Seven Sisters was the first solo hike my parents let me do, and I still remember the feeling of freedom and adventure. More recently, with better and better trails from Montreat, I've enjoyed taking my kids up this and Sister #2.

The Montreat Trail System was a very pleasant surprise!
