Buck Mountain as seen from the major saddle south of Luahna Peak on August 20, 2003. The three primary and two secondary summits of Buck feature prominently here: West Summit (8,254 ft), North Summit (8,528 ft), Middle Summit with vertical white line (8,500+ ft and virtually equal in height to the North Summit), South Summit I (8,500+ ft), and South Summit II (8,316 ft) at right-center.
Copper Peak (8,966 ft) is at left-center on the horizon. The beige coloration is pumice from Glacier Peak--ugly stuff to climb up on but easy to descend on (like aerated scree).
