West Chimney
Fun little outing. Perfect combination of Elephant Butte, Owl Rock and Bullwinkle. Watch out for that summit rock.....it won't last much longer ;)

Off Width
Made it up. The first little slab move I thought was easy to base of chimney, but the off width body jam still gave me issues, but then again I have a tendency to fight chimneys. Made it up. Great views and fun little climb.

Fun off-width
Led the west chimney. The so called 5.6 crux at the base of the route was very easy for me since I am tall lol. The off width chimney was fun and easy once you figure out the correct way to make the moves! Took protection quite well actually. Summit is awesome. Kessler cleaned my lead and did great.

Nice little summit
Nice little lead, I did not place much gear, used #6 cam right at the start of the crack (more really to protect my belayer in a case of fall), a little higher up #5, and then #2. I did sling a wedged rock inside the chimney. The chimney felt pretty tight. You want to climb more out of the chimney, deep in it is super tight.
The anchors at the summit are two loose bolts, one has a chain on it, the other one a link for rappel.
4/24/17 - anchors better, single bolt, but back up with a sling over a huge boulder. Fun climb with Dow and my 9 year great niece.

wake-up call
My 2nd experience w/ the Entrada sandstone of Arches. Unprotected .6 face to gain top of pedestal seemed about right. Then came the off-width. Hardest "5.6" (climb rating given in Green's Moab's Best guide; Bjørnstad calls it a more reasonable (to me) .7+) off-width I might have ever done! Had a knee-bar in that mofo for awhile before I pulled the move! Some awkward squirming up that strange chimney over a few seeming death blocks, & finally stood on the top of the thing. Relieved to finally be done with the climb! 2 pieces for whole climb (4.5 Camalot is the money piece). Cool to do yet another desert spire, though, & some great views.

Warmup climb
Climbed up the West Chimney in early morning to warm up for Owl Rock and Off-Balance Rock. Fun & easy.

Fun Tower
Great climb w/Jamie & Aaron. Took a minute to find the right moves around the awkward bulge, but easy once you do. I actually didn't mind the chimney too much.

W. Chimney
A fun climb w/Aaron and Jamie. The chimney was actually fun and not too bad for my claustraphobic self. Great views from the top!
I just hope I'm as rusty as Aaron one day!

hey rocky!
climbed this puppy w/aaron and heather. loved the short chimney climb in the waning afternoon light and the lovely, airy summit was superb!
aaron did a phenomenal job leading, especially around the rugged bulge halfway up! so much for being rusty my friend! :)
