With Nathan. First time I've failed to summit on a hike in my life. Amazing to swim in Llyn Cau. Such a beautiful lake. Had to turn back due to bad weather ( A thunderstorm ) / lack of time to get down before dark. I would've summited if i was alone but this is a really good lesson to learn that there's no shame in turning back !

Amazing views
Minffordd route....Tal Y Llyn lake is beautiful, such a rich dark blue....back down in time for cream tea at the Visitor's Center tea room----their scones are scrumptious! Weather was fantastic so we had the most incredible views.

Nice climb
Some time ago now but very nice and straightforward climb this one, walked directly from a cottage we were staying in, excellent weather too.
Been up Cadair many times, best route uo Cyfrwy Arete then a quick amble to the summit! just misses out on being a 3,000ft peak, would make it interesting for the 14 peaks then :)

Went Up the left route...dont know what it was called but we had to climb a couple of peaks first. Came down a rather hairy and challenging foxs path but I made it :) Beautiful scenery.

Again a great day:
I dont know what it is but most times I have done this summit the best of weather has always been there for me.
Did the complete horseshoe via Craig y Cau with sunshine all day except for amazing cloud formations blowing over the ridge in banks late in the day. These were very unusual as the cloud was blowing in from the north hitting the ridge and then going back in on themselves. Must of been an effect on thermals...?

Another father-son trip
Up the gulley behind Llyn Cau with my dad, who was then about to celebrate his 70th birthday.
Went with my three best mates from high school--Bog, Mill, and Piotr--during my first summer break from uni. I remember we hiked in some many miles, camped illegally in the woods, drank a lot of beer, washed in streams... but of the climb itself, I remember a lake, what I would now describe as a couloir, and a windy summit packed with other hikers. I wonder what they're all doing now--my high school mates, that is, not the random hikers on the summit.
I climbed this many years ago as a scout. We camped in our bright orange force 10 tents next to the lake. Brilliant weekend away.

MLTB training climax
After a night navigation exercise and an overnight bivvy at Llyn Arran, us pupils follwed our leader Hugo up the nothern slopes to the summit shelter where we stopped for a brew-up. Unfortunately the clouds were down so I've no idea what the view is like.
been several times doing different routes, spent one cool evening climbing the cyfrwy arete with my brother (who'd just been to his graduation) and my mate olly watched the sun set over north wales with a cold beer! then stayed in the shelter, highly recommended!
As child my father had always taken his holidays below the mountain but had never been up it. I was delighted to take him and his friend via the foxes path to spend some time on the summit.
I've also been up via the Cyfrwy Arrete, much more fun!!
A few ascents over the years. Happy memories of going up with my dad!

Standard circular route
Did the whole horseshoe starting from Minffordd. Really bad weather plus on the summit it turned really crazy, for me it was probably the first time to experience raining sideways. Sitting in the shelter with the howling winds I think I got the picture why people used to believe that this place was haunted.

Unbelievably hot day, made all the worse for my climbing partner Stu as he was suffering with a hang over. Great scrambling and brilliant coastal views. Fine leisurly day.
