Echo and Cholla
I've climbed it many times, but as someone still learning, I enjoy it throughly every time- total IPod friendly jaunt. 5/7/10 is probably the last time I'll get to climb it during the summer after work, as the rocks at 4:30 in the afternoon are insanely hot in spots.

Hiked while in town on business
From the hotel and back. Lots of tourists. Nobody else running it when I was on it. I think I had a good time up and especially down. I can't say I really like blue paint on rocks though.

Nice Hike
Nice hike, When I leave home and it's 9 degrees and i drive 11 hours to hike in the high 70s, It's awesome! 40 minutes up and 15 down. Lots of people on the trail. I saw a roadrunner right on top. I went up by way of the Cholla Trail.

Rock & Roll
Came to Phoenix for the Rock & Roll Half Marathon yesterday. Today we hiked to Camelback Summit via Cholla Trail. It rained on us for half mile or so then turned out to be a nice morning. Great views! Did some geocaching on the mountain too.

Echo Canyon
Did this in the afternoon on a full belly after a big Thanksgiving dinner. Did it in about an hour and fifteen minutes finishing at sunset. Nice leg workout.
Head to tail and back again... Started to rain and things got a bit slippery... Great views and nice urban park...

Cholla and Echo Canyon
Climbed pretty much every week from late May to late Aug last year. Both are nice trails, Echo is steeper and shorter, sometimes tougher to get parking, especially around sunrise. I also did the loop (up Cholla and down Echo) then back around to the car for a bit longer hike, though some of it is on sidewalk!

Camelback in the Morning
An amazing urban hike & a beautiful little mountain. I climbed it every morning I got the chance while I was in Phoenix; its a must-climb if your in the valley, but show up before sunrise. I personally did the ascent in under 29 minutes one morning, but i suspect it could be done much faster.
Good training hill in the middle of town. Some fun rock routes all over it too

Fun hike
Nice day, lots of hikers for a weekday, but better than last time I was in Phoenix, when I couldn't even find a place to park.

Echo Canyon Trail
This is one heck of a great after-meeting slog. After a day of sitting on a Canadair Regional Jet then presenting to potential clients, I headed out to summit this peak via the Echo Canyon Trail. I am an extremely heat intolerant person and the evening heat was torturous. I was overjoyed when the sun finally went down, which cooled the temperature a bit. I don't know how people live in Phoenix in the summer... Still, this is a great urban after work / meeting hike.
