Re: WOW!Thank you! If you ever get the chance, you should! Do the North/ NW side though, stay away from the South side if you don't like crowds

Re: WOW!I found out that people go up the west ridge/NW ridge of S.sister and thought, 'I totally need to do that next time!' Have been up the other routes (devils lake and green lakes) many times but looking for something different. Would LOVE some info. from you about it. Is the ridge pretty stable...just a lot of scree like the s.side route? easy to top out into the crater? Camp lake looks nice for camping...what way did you come in? thanks for any info....amy

Re: WOW!We came in from Camp Lake, via the Pole Creek TH to the North.
It is pretty straigtforward of a climb, however, a lot of routefinding issues between the lake and the ridge!
Once on the ridge, it is a pretty steep climb beside the Eugene glacier up the Moraine, that ends in a verticle rock climb of apx 10'. Pretty easy, but quite exposed over the steep glacier!!
From that point up the ridge to the summit is pretty straight forward with an easy top out.
I believe I have pics posted here of the climb up the moraine, and beginnig of the summit ridge too.
Altogether, My favorite S. Sister climb yet!!!
Oh yeah, it is pretty long too...
