Third and fourth mountains of the day
Romped over to South and Middle Carter after tagging Carter Dome. Much easier hike once I was on the ridgeline.

Very very wet day
Came from Carter Dome to Hight and then to the South summit. Wasn't raining until after we hit the Middle summit. On the way back to hit the trail back down to 18 Mile Brook Trail we were hit by buckets of rain. Squished our way back down to the car where we found a mouse had made a raid on our Powerbars in the trunk of Flanders' car.

Carter-Moriah traverse
I climbed these two (after doing Carter Dome) with my dad, then we stayed at the Imp shelter overnight. The way down North Carter to the Imp campsite was a bit steep at times, but who doesn't love a downhill scramble?

After I went to Carter Dome I headed over to South Carter. It was a nice end to the day. Then on October 8th of 2008 I went to Middle Carter and was treated to some great fall views of the Presidential Range.

Middle Carter via. North Carter and Stony Brook Trail
Southern turnaround on our trip. Hiked up to the Imp Campsite stayed the night and kept going south to Middle Carter. Back up and down Stony Brook trail. Note: Imp Cutoff DOES NOT exist even though it is listed on most maps and I could not find any information about it being "decommissioned".

Carter Mountain, Middle and South
Climbed with Moriah, North Carter and Lethe via the Carter-Moriah Trail from Pinkham Notch. A good climb to do near the end of the summer hiking season. Great views of the Presidential Range from Middle Carter on this crystal clear day. Not much to see from South Carter.

Cloudy day in the Carters
Part of our quest for Dome, South, and Middle. Several blow downs, but none too horrible. Several long stretches of snow from South to Middle. Did not look like anyone had been from South to Middle in a long time. Good trip overall (14.2 miles total).

North to South from Moriah Trailhead
Part of an attempt of the whole ridge from the northern trailhead, climbed Moriah, then headed up North Carter, hit Middle and South, then bailed down towards the 19 mile brook trail. Intended to get Carter Dome, Wildcat A and D as well, but the going was far tougher than expected and we didn't bring snowshoes. Still a great hike, awesome views between North and Middle Carter.
