People train
Beautiful summit with some great views and spaces to relax protected from the wind. Very popular route, with about hundred people encountered on the short hike. Fun to chat with others, but something to be prepared for.

nice summer hike
Did this my family on vacation way back when. I remember we had to run down the trail to get back to the car before the sun set, but it was beautiful.

Wind and Ice!
A frigid climb with 50mph winds at the summit made an incredibly interesting summit bid; what fun though!

Porter and Cascade
Summer weekend after skool was out with a lifetime friend, whose father introduced me to backpacking.

amazing view
The temperature dropped probably 30 degrees from trailhead to windy summit. But the views of the High peaks were amazing.

Adks
Drove up from Rome early in the morning with a buddy for our first winter 46er. Great morning with 360 view of snow covered high peaks. Porter is only .9miles from Cascade's summit.

Cascade Mountain
Passed a dozen early birds on the hike who had no visibility from the summit, and about 3/4 of the way up the clouds cleared and the sun came out! Beautiful full view of the great range from this very short and easy climb!

Cascade to Marcy Airfield
We had 2 cars (party of 7). Left one at Marcy airfield and started hiking to Cascade (2nd time for me) from the 73. Extremely windy on top (60-70 mph gust), but beautiful sunny and hot for this time of year. We had lunch at the junction between Cascade and Porter. We then hiked to Porter, by Blueberry Mt and down to Marcy Airfield. The trail between Porter and Blueberry was maintained but it was clear it isn't a frequently travelled route. The views all around were beautiful.
Did Cascade in an afternoon. I had to get bike parts in Champlain, NY and decided to hit two birds with one stone. Beautiful summer weather for late september. It was my first hike alone. Left my car at 4 PM and was back before dawn. Nice bald summit. Not enough time for Porter. Cascade is supposed to be the easiest 4000 footer.

Spring hike
Climbed Cascade several times. Great family hike with rewarding views. On this spring day, unusually hot at 25 degrees celcius. Special hiking in snow in shorts.
The hike was a good workout but not too long. The views were absolutely amazing.

With Porter
Did the climb from Rt 73 with my wife on a trip to the Northeast. We did Porter first and then hit Cascade. I liked the open summit and it reminded me of Wright Peak. Not much for views on the top, as it was a cloudy morning.

Easy climb
Nice half-day hike from route 73. Weather was a bit cloudy and it didn't take long for it to start raining once we got to the top. The combination of that and wind chill forced us to take cover down below.
