I summited Mount Rainer several years ago via the Dissapointment Cleaver route. Me and a buddy took another trip to the cascades 2 years later in the hopes of climbing several of the major volcanoes in the early spring. We where forced off of Mount Shasta due to hurricane force winds on the summit. We then where caught in a whiteout on Mount Rainier near Camp Muir, and where forced to abandon that climb as well. I hope to return to this wonderful range soon!
started with shasta in july of 2014, i have now added rainier and adams. a truly wonderful experience.

Mt. St. Helens
First major summit trip. Made it car-to-car in about 10 hours, and really enjoyed our time at the summit, spending a great deal of time enjoying the views. This climb really initiated my obsession with climbing/hiking.

More to come
Shasta and Adams were summited in fine weather. I was blown off Rainier at 13,600 ft. just above High Break on the DC route. Back to Rainier next June. My goal is to experience all of the Cascade volcanoes over the next years. I look forward to updating this post soon and eventually clicking on the successful button down the road.

I have since summited Rainer, South Sister and Mt. Baker. I am fascinated by the unique personality of each of the peaks in this range. I look forward to getting to know them all.

South Sister
Didn't go for a summit this time as the clouds rolled in quickly, but made it to the ridge. There is WAY more snow right now than there was this time last year. Deep snow extended all the way down the valley to the trail head, making the climb way harder than it was with last year's snow.
The history of these mountains. The legendary climbers who've topped them. Pretty darn captivating. I've made my pilgrimages to the top of a fair number of them and hold those memories dear. What a unique part of the world!
