A well-equipped, well-sheltered family site set in 1200 acres of natural beauty enhanced by diverse woodland and a variety of attractive man made features, such as the world's largest hedged maze. The site is situated within walking distance of Castlewellan town. The mile-long lake with trout fishing is ringed by hills and open areas of parkland. The Annesley Garden and Arboretum comprise a series of attractive and distinctive features of which the walled garden is the magnificent focal point. The collection of trees and shrubs are set in beautifully landscaped surroundings and incorporate fountains, ponds, ornamental greenhouses and broad sweeping vistas. The Castle, (now used as a conference centre) is built in the Scottish baronial style, and sits at the base of the wooded slopes overlooking the lake. Four waymarked trails of varying length wind through the forest leading you into some of the park's most beautiful wooded areas. These trails follow a circular route and are signposted from the lakeside car park.
