Cold!
Extremely cold and windy at the top. Summit register was frozen shut so I didn't sign it. Saw a herd of wild horses on another ridge in the distance.

Very Green
Climbed from the east side from the road. Surprisingly green for a desert but lots of mosquitoes. Climbed up a ridge to the north of the peak. Great views of the salt flats and Skull Valley. Went down an interesting canyon to the north. There was a cave or mine of some sort but I can't find it on any maps. I might have to go back and check it out.

Beautiful rolling hills and ridge
My friend Scott and I climbed up one ridge to the north and came down one ridge to the south that most people have reported climbing. We wanted to check out some of the more cliffy area and it increased the ridge walk over to the HP by another 15 min or so. We got to hit quite a few extra little bumps. One of these has a pretty good cairn on it. I thought this quite odd especially since the actual HP had no trace of human beings besides the one witness bench marker. I left a small bottle at what seemed to be the highest pile of rocks at the HP but left my little notebook at home...I left inside a pencil, pen, and the directions I had printed out from deans NW Ridge Route on summitpost.
4WD Road is in the same condition as mentioned. We were in a jeep and could have made it all the way to the parking spot that Dean mentioned but stopped at 0.8 miles near a cliffy area that had been particularly washed out. I have taken my Toyota corolla up some pretty treacherous roads and wouldn't have been comfortable on this one. However, you could easily make it to the cattle watering hole and walk the extra 1.5 miles. It would be a good warm-up hike approach before you hit the steep sections leading up to the ridge.

NW ridge
It was easy getting to Cedar Peak/Cedar Mts HP, but we continued along the ridge all the way to P7700 and then back. This was quite a bit harder as there were about a million ups and downs as well as a set of cliffs to navigate with an inch of snow on loose rock.
We did drive all the way up the Jeep road to the switchback where we parked. It was fine in a Jeep Wrangler, but do not attempt it with a regular 2wd low clearance vehicle.

Cedar Peak
Via the Northwest ridge. Very enjoyable hike along the ridge to the summit. The views were outstanding. One note: the road that makes up the last 1.3 miles to where you park, from the cattle watering station, is in terrible shape. I would imagine nearly impassable in sections, I didn't try. If you do decide to drive up it, hope you can make it because there are all but no places to turn around the first .5 miles and you will be committed.

Cedar Mountains HP
I approached from the northwest ridge. I thought the view was great and the weather was warm considering that it's winter.

Good Off-Season Hike
Took this trip to get in a West Desert hike. Great views all around, particularly of Deseret.

Flat tires
Led the WMC club to the BM. One member of our team encountered two rear flat tires crossing the east side of Rydalch Pass. Had to be towed to SLC. While on the summit of Cedar BM, we traversed to the south to the limestone cliffs. The rock here is very loose

Northwest Ridge
I really enjoyed this hike. I saw about 10 wild horses on the ridge across (looking Northeast) from the Northwest ridge. Fun hike.
