Bright and warm day
Beautiful climb, but bad snow: too warm (between 4°C and 10°C at 2000m!!!!). Some danger of avalanche on the slopes in shadow: seen and heard a couple of avalanches...
Here a short movie of the climb: Pizzo Cefalone movie
After most of a week of bad weather, we come back in Gran Sasso-group the second day of sun... We avoid austere and long couloirs of Corno Grande and decide to get the easiest Pizzo Cefalone;in fact the route is for 90% on a ridge, with no risk of avalanche. Unfortunately, we arrived too late at the base of the short couloir that put on the final ridge, and many pieces of snow and stones were falling due to sun heating... Too dangerous, it isn't worth it!
