Congratulations.... on the 4th ascent - and by a fine looking new route. Viva 1987! I was busy making a less successful attempt on Broad Peak that year - and not by a new route.
best wishes
Mark

Re: Congratulations..Thanks Marc, i agree, viva 1987! I'm sorry for your unsuccessful attempt on Broad Peak...but we all know that this kind of ascents (8000) has a lot of problems. Did you try once more to climb it?
Cheers
Alberto

Re: Congratulations..No - that was my one & only 8000er attempt. I failed on two 6000ers in the 1980's as well - which left me with a feeling of 'unfinished business' - until I finally got my 'big one' with a solo ascent of Aconcagua in 2011 - as an old git of 50!
How about you - did you get up an 8000er?
best wishes, Mark

Re: Congratulations..Congrats for climbing Acongagua!
Usually i prefer the technical climbs, but anyhow i climbed some 6000ers and 5000ers in Cordillera Real and Cordillera Blanca during different trips. I went three times in Himalaya with Mountain Wilderness, but i never attempted an 8000er.
All the best.
