Re: Thanks for the shot

Heh heh! Thanks. I blame the photographer, but, yeah, I was feeling pretty good at the time! It was a great trip for dramatic photos.

Re: So that is what I missed, huh?

Actually, the snow climb up the couloir was a piece of cake. It was the downclimb of Kelso Ridge which was tricky.

Re: So that is what I missed, huh?

I have always recommended not to downclimb Kelso unless someone in the party has done it before going up. Glad to see you guys made it safely. Great trip report, too!

Cool Pic

Nice photo! I went up Dead Dog on May 28th w/ the Colorado Mountain Club. Haven't developed the pics yet, but I know they're going to be great! Grats on a safe descent of Kelso ridge.

Re: seething with jealousy

You were invited - you could have even caught the Boulder carpool! ;-)

Nelson, Fabio, and I are trying to pull something together for the weekend of June 18th and 19th. It won't be Torreys, but I'll keep you in the email loop.

Re: Winter Ascent

A winter ascent would be very dependent on snow conditions which are very unpredictable in winter. I would not attempt it unless I was expert at diagnosing avy conditions. In this photo we are pretty close to the top, perhaps 100-200' feet or so.
