Fun Warm Up!
Did this right before heading off to Clingmens dome. Super fun rockish climb at the end. Tried it years before, but thunder storm pushed us off. Glad to finally get it done!

Feels Good!
In preperation for Mount LeConte tomorrow. Views weren't bad - a little rain on the way back. A rare dose of peace and solitude on top for at least 20 minutes.

Favorite Spot in the Park
I have now been to the Chimney Tops 16 times. I never tire of this hike.

Steep hike, nice views
Nice but steep hike. Trail eroded, badly in a few spots, but no surprise given its popularity. Made it to the very top after a slightly exposed rock scramble.

Almost
Almost made it but because of a dizzy spell couldn't make it up the scramble. My hubby hasn't given up on me yet though.

Love the Scrambling
This was to be my second time out of seven climbing the Chimneys in 2007. This was an awesome-fun hike and scramble; so far the best peak I've found in the Smokies. This mountain just makes me crave more scrambling. The traverse to the second Chimney is crazy fun; I'm now a scrambling junkie trying to get a fix. Heaven help me if I can get out west and climb some 14ers
Great little hike with my later to be wife (two years later)...this was apart of showing her many of the joys of hiking.

Completely Socked In
We came, we conquered, but we saw nothing. Completely socked in though the clouds looked hopeful when we started. I will never go to the Smokies in the summer again except for the waterfalls - crisp low humidity fall is the time to go.

A great hike
I hiked up there with my wife Noelle. The only drawback was the annoying group of boy scouts and their leaders at the summit.

CT Trail
Had a few hours in the late afternoon to spare so I decided to climb chimney tops. I'd driven past it a few times & always wanted to stop. It was a fun climb, pretty easy for the most part until the end. The scramble to the top was a lot of fun. The skies were clear and there were great views in all directions.

Grand Central Station
Really crowded at the top. I hiked it via AT then Road Prong; heppily I caught a ride at Indian Gap on the way back and didn't have to hike the last 1.7 miles. Next time, I leave the crowds and go to the lower chimney.

The climb is a little tough. A big elevation change. The scramble at the end was very fun, but the best is the view from the top!! On a good day you can see for miles!!

Could Have Been BetterNice hike/climb with my wife and brother. It would have been better but for a large Baptist youth group proselytizing along the trail.
