Nice photo ...Could you please bring me up-to-date in regards to the natural history on Chuckwalla Mountain?
For example, I'm assuming that this mountain
was named after Chuckwalla lizards.
Could a person still find a variety of
reptiles here?? Is this mountain recovering
from a recent wildfire? Is there water down
inside that canyon, or do you suggest a
person be prepared for arid conditions???
Thanks, Guido!

Re: Nice photo ...Well, I cannot give you much details. That was actually the first time I ventured out in that area. But I do know that it is named after the lizard. But I have not seen any. Geologically, these peaks are volcanic origin and you should certainly be prepared for arid conditions. In my eyes, early spring definitely is the best time of the year.
Cheers, Guido
