Dayhike
After summiting Rose Peak, I separated from the gf and Mom to snag this bonus peak, wasn't super exciting, but happy to bag it.

Rose and Church combo
Although the hike to the peak from the Rose trail was pretty fun, the overall experience wasn't as exciting as Rose. The views are nice, but not as good as Rose. Still a fun day hiking though.

5 peak day
Fun day of hiking, from Mt. Rose summit took the Relay Road, cross country from due south of Tamarack, up and over the peak, back down to Relay Road, up to Relay Peak where I scrambled up the last 300 feet rather than walking the road, then took the new trail to Mt. Houghton, then cross country down from Houghton to the saddle with Mt. Rose, picked up the Mt. Rose trail here, took that until it was time for the easy cross country to Church Peak, then rejoined the Mt. Rose trail to the summit of Mt. Rose. Took the Mt. Rose trail all the way back down. TR will be posted HERE.
A short walk/class 2 scramble, a little easier if you stay on the east side of the ridge. I couldn't find the ammo can. There were many cairns on and around the summit; it would be interesting to know the significance considering the peak's relative insignificance.

Summit via South Ridge
In crampons and without, followed the ridge over from Mt. Rose to this peak. As with my time on Mt. Rose, there was no evidence in the snow that anyone had been on this peak in weeks or months. What made this summit challenging was the descent. I chose to go straight down the East Face in snowshoes and then along the Whites Creek drainage. Yee Haw! Then back to the Jones Creek approach and out.

Rose and Church
I did the normal hike on the way up but then went over to the summit of Church Peak from the saddle between the two and then cut over to the trail on the west edge of the saddle on the way down. There was a faint use path in some places.
1:48 up, 26 min. on top, 25 min. to Church, 1:39 down, 4:19 total RT.

A Little Extra Peakbagging
This "peak" does not have enough prominence to be considered its own mountain, but due to it being so close to Mount Rose and because it is an officially-named summit I decided to make the trek over to it. I was completely fascinated by the very large piles of rocks scattered on the upper slopes. I kept wondering who put them there, and why.

Windy and snow
There was a lot of snow along the trail. It was sometimes hard to follow the trail. It was very windy at the summit. I left some gloves near the top when I was tying my shoe. I had the gloves for 12 years. Unfortunate that I lost them. However, it was a tough summit to get, and I got it in cold and snow on the ground and wind, so I am satisfied.
